Assessment for Learning
Posted on November 18th, 2008

What has been done so far:
- Annual Student Conferences. This year we enlarged the age range from KS2-Ks3 to KS1-KS5. 120 pupils from 24 schools came together to talk about how they learn best and to share their experiences of Afl in practice
- Annual Teacher Training Conference. We were privileged to have with us this year Professor Mary James, Deputy Director, IoE, who provided a training day
- Working Parties were established to make the network more accountable and emphasise the ethos of sharing
- Termly meetings for project leaders to inform and share good practice
- Biographies of network members were shared to promote easy access to experienced practitioners within member schools
- An Afl guide for parents was produced with a primary and secondary version suitable for personlisation by individual schools
- A memory USB was distributed to all project leaders to provide immediate access to available materials
- A student handbook was produced and distributed to all schools incorporating a 'student entitlement'

Plans for this year:
- Funding projects from bids made by project leaders, e.g. filming good practice
- Observation days
- Planning support and funding for teacher/student conferences
- Updating and redistribution of Afl handbook for teachers
- Preparation and production of resource materials
- Production of Afl 'goody' bag
- Support for focused school time for project leaders
