Will Ryan, Leading Educational Thinker and Author of ‘Leadership with a Moral Purpose”

Will Ryan has worked in schools in Rotherham, South Yorkshire for over thirty years as a teacher, head teacher and Local Authority Advisor. As a head teacher he led a school that prized itself on genuine pupil creativity and was described by Ofsted as ‘outstanding’. He is a speaker and Associate of Independent Thinking Ltd.

Louis Coiffait, CEO of NAHT Edge – ‘The Future of the Profession’. Louis is particularly interested in education policy, innovation and technology. He has more than a decade of experience in education, most recently as head of research in the Pearson Think Tank and in the office of the chief advisor, Sir Michael Barber.


Martin Robinson, Critically acclaimed author and consultant.

Martin will lead a Socratic debate on the conference theme. Martin spent 20 years as a teacher in London state schools including Trinity Catholic High School. He was an Assistant Headteacher, an Advanced Skills Teacher, A Head of Faculty, a Head of Department, and a teacher of Drama and English.

He was seen by Ofsted five times and his teaching and leadership were classified as ‘outstanding’ on each occasion. HMI described his work as ‘highly effective’ and The Good Schools Guide reported his work to be ‘exceptional’.

This stimulating and informative day will include an opportunity for delegates to look at the work and outcomes of research carried out by the RNLC networks.
